Crochet Scarf, Purse, Anne Cabot 5339

Crocheted Scarf and Purse:   This pattern gives directions to crochet the accessory set pictured.  This easy two toned set is worked in crochet cotton.   The scarf will measure 52 x 6-1/2 inches and the lined purse, with strap, measures 11-1/2 x 7-1/2 inches.

This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Anne Cabot 5339 in 1942.  The newspaper description:  "Fashion turns a bright face to Spring with this clear blue and white crocheted scarf, and tailored looking bag. Scarf is 52 by 6 1/2 inches and is done in a lacy, openwork stitch. You can make it and matching bag in any two color combination. It makes a stunning wrap around and tie turban too! The 11-1/2 x 7-1/2 inch bag is worked in double thread so it is sturdy and practical. Long lived clothes and accessories make good sense these days!"
