Crochet Scarfs Mats, Petal Stitch, Alice Brooks 7032

Crocheted Scarfs and Mats:  This pattern contains directions for making a jiffy crocheted scarf and mat set. It can be made of either Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 10 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. The scarf can be made any desired length. Both pieces are worked in a very loose gauge and they have to be starched to the right size and shape.  The scarf is approximately 12 x 27 inches, or 12 by any desired length.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7032 in 1945. 

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:  Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or No. 10 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 0 steel crochet hook.   The 27-inch scarf requires approximately 300 yards of cotton; The mat requires approximately 175 yards of cotton. ple minutes.
