Crochet Shell Doilies Pattern Design 6116

Crocheted Doilies: These three crocheted doilies done in heavy thread can be made very quickly. The doilies can be worked in four strands of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton used together or of a heavy Perle Cotton especially adaptable for this type crochet. The doilies come in three sizes - 18 inches, 12 inches and 6 inches.

This is a Mail Order pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs. This pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 6116 in 1938.  

Materials:  Mercerized Crochet Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins or Perle Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (4 1/2 ounce) skeins;   No. 0 steel crochet hook.   The large doily requires approximately 140 yards of Perle Cotton or 560 yards of string;   The medium sized doily 62 yards of Perle Cotton or 248 yards of string;   The small doily 21 yards of Perle Cotton or 84 yards of string.
