Description

Crocheted Slippers:  This pattern contains directions for making two styles of slippers. The first style is the backless scuffle. The second style is more the old-fashioned house slipper. The soles of, both slippers are worked entirely in slip stitch using rags; the uppers are worked in single crochet arid can be made either of Rug Cotton or of a double strand of Knitting Worsted. Both styles can be made in large, medium and small size; all three sizes are included in the one pattern.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7359 in 1942.

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: (FOR EACH SIZE): 1 (100 yard) ball of red and about 10 yards of white Rug Cotton, a No. 6 bone crochet hook and 120 yards of red rags 3/4 inch wide or 2 ounces of red and about 1/2 ounce of white Knitting Worsted, a No. 6 bone crochet hook and 120 yards of red rags 3/4 inch wide.
