Luxery at little cost. Two strands of string and a big crochet hook make this 60-inch cloth. For smaller sizes leave off the border or use one strand of string or finer cotton. 

Description

CROCHETED CLOTH:  This table cloth can either be made of two strands of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton worked together, or of a single strand of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. The weight of the cotton governs the size of cloth. Directions are given telling where to end off to make four sizes in each material.   Cloths are doilies crocheted in heavy cotton are 60, 44, 35 or 25 inches; crocheted in medium cotton are 38, 30, 24 or 15 inches; crocheted in fine cotton are 30, 24, 18 or 10 inches in diameter.  

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers.   The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 1775 in 1938.
