Crochet Star Doily Pattern, Alice Brooks 7075

Crocheted Doilies:  These crocheted doilies can be made of either Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 or No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. The doilies can be used to form luncheon or buffet sets or they can be used as odd doilies.  The doilies may be crocheted in 3 sizes each of small and large.  The small doily sizes are 7, 8 or 12 inches; the large doily sizes are 11, 13 an 19 inches in diameter. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7075.   It was included in the Alice Brooks 1949 Designs Catalog.    The newspaper description:  "Crochet beginners!  Hitch your ambitions to this star doily.  It is easiest crochet and it won't fail to win your praises for its beauty.  Make your first crochet a lasting effect!".
