Description

Star of East Medallion:  This crocheted medallion can be made either of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 20 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. When joined together the medallions form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs, pillows and other household articles. The medallion may be crocheted at 5-1/2 or 7 inches from point to point. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern, purchased through  newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 6864 in 1940.  

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Each medallion requires approximately 31 yards of fine cotton or 40 yards of heavy cotton; No. 20 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook or unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 8 steel crochet hook.    Each medallion requires approximately 31 yards of fine cotton or 40 yards of heavy cotton.
