Crochet Stripe Afghan Pattern, Mail Order 7143

Crocheted Afghan:  This pattern contains directions for a crocheted Afghan and matching Pillow, worked in stripes of three contrasting colors or three shades of one color. If desired, many more colors can be used - thus making a multi-color Afghan.  The afghan measures 53 x 72 and the pillow is 15 x 16 inches.  NOTE: Afghan can be made in a three-tone combination or in any different colors. If a multi-color Afghan is being made, use a different shade for each 4-row stripe -having as many colors as desired.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7143.  The newspaper description:  "Give a warm gift - surprise the family with a cozy afghan. Popular shell stitch plus single crochet ridges in three colors create interesting texture. Crochet of synthetic worsted".
