A DOLL for Christmas!  That's any little girl's delight. Here's one you  can crochet of wool, a yellow haired Alpine miss dressed in her native costume.  Sequins trim her black bodice - or you can add a touch of embroider.  The white apron covers a blue skirt. 

Description

Swiss Girl  PC 5360:  This pattern contains directions to crochet the doll pictured.   The pattern includes directions to make the doll body, as well as the detachable garments and shoes.  She has yarn hair and embroidered features.   The actual size is not stated, but based on out patterns from this time period, I would say in the 14 inch range.  The pattern is vintage 1950 from The National Needlecraft Bureau.   The pattern was made available through newspaper advertisements as well as a handout at the local yarn shops.  

Materials:  Chadwicks Red Heart Sock and Sweater Yarn, 1 ball (1 oz balls) each of White, Pink, Jewel Blue and Yellow; scraps of Black and Red;   Scraps of White Knit-Cro Sheen and Red Pearl Cotton;   Clarks O.N.T. Plastic Crochet Hook No 5;   1/2 yard of red ribbon, 1/2 inch wide;   Sequins and small beads;   Cotton stuffing

Gauge:  5 sc make 1 inch; 4 rounds make 1 inch
