Crochet Tablecloth Pattern, Medallions, Laura Wheeler 1385

Crocheted Medallions:  This crocheted medallion can either be made of unbleached crochet and knitting cotton or of No. 30 mercerized crochet cotton. When joined together the medallions form bedspreads, cloths, chair sets, buffet sets or pillows.   The finished medallions will measure 4 or 6 inches square.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 1385 in 1937.  The newspaper description: "A cloth worthy of your finest china, is this exquisite bit of lacy luxury! Composed of 6 inch square medallions, rich in design, it's easy as can be to crochet and combine for many articles of rare distinction".

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: 

• Mercerized crochet and knitting cotton (in 500 yard skeins) and a No. 8 steel crochet hook 
• or No. 30 mercerized cotton (in 125 yard balls) and a No. 12 steel crochet hook.
• Each medallion requires approximately 50 yards of heavy cotton or 33 yards of fine cotton.
