Description

Crocheted Doilies:   This pattern contains directions for making a round and an oblong doily. Each doily can be made either of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton or unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton. The choice of cotton governs the size and texture of the doilies.   Crochet the round doilies at 8 or 11 inches, or the oblong at 6-1/2 x 9-1/2 or 10 x 14". 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7716 in 1944.   

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:   No 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook;   or unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 8 steel crochet hook;   The round doily requires approximately 70 yards of No. 30 Cotton or 100 yards of heavy cotton.   The oblong doily requires approximately 85 yards of No. 30 Cotton or 125 yards of heavy cotton.
