The official name for his widge edging crochet design is Classic Luncheon Set.  It's easy to see why. 

Description

Classic Luncheon Set :  This pattern contains directions to make the set shown.   This set starts with a linen center, to which exquisite crochet edging is added.  This is certainly a classic look for the fine dining table.   The set includes the place mat as well as a square napkin.  The mat measures 14-1/2 x 18-1/2 inches and the napkin is 9 inches square.   Of course, you can crochet this edging in any size of your choice. 

Materials:  J.& P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen, 3 balls:¼ yard and 7” square linen;  steel crochet hook No.7.
