Crochet Tulip Potholders Basket, Ellen Bruce E-824

Tulip Potholders with Wall Pocket:   This pattern gives directions to crochet the potholder set pictured.  The set consists with tulip shaped potholders, in multiple colors, and a wall basket to store them.  "Colorful crocheted potholders in unusual shapes are conversational notes for the kitchen decor.  The hot pad holder, fashioned after a tulip, and the basket filled with colorful flowers, makes an interesting Christmas gift". 

This is a Mail Order Pattern, purchased through newspapers.  The pattern was marketed as Ellen Bruce E-824 (Needlework Bureau) in 1950.   The newspaper description:  "These novelty potholders with a rack resembling a basket are ideal to hang on the kitchen wall. Holders and baskets are easy to crochet".  

MATERIAL:  Candlewick Cotton Yarn or Light-weight Cotton Rug Yarn. One ball each, of Medium Green for leaves; Red, Yellow, or Orchid for tulips; Cream, Ivory, White, or Pale Green for the basket; and a little Black for the tulip-centers and the leaf-ribs;  Hook size not stated.
