Description

Vanity Fair : This pattern contains directions to crochet the afghan shown. This is a fairly easy project -- beginners to intermediate that is worked in strips of Afghan Wool. There are three shades each of gold and green (or colors of your choice), there are both narrow and wide strips that are joined together to from an afghan that will measure 65 x 80 inches. The long ends are finished with tufts of fringe. This pattern was featured in Spool Cotton Leaflet No 516.

Materials:

  • CHADWICK'S RED HEART AFGHAN WOOL, 14 skeins (1 oz. skeins) each of Lichen Green, Tapestry Green and Antique Green ; 9 skeins. each of Gold, Golden Fleece and Antique Gold ; 7 skeins of Almond Green and 5 skeins of Old Gold.
  • MILWARD'S Casein Crochet Hook No. 5.

GAUGE: Each narrow strip measures about 1-3/4 inches wide; 4 rows make 1 inch. Afghan is made of 5 large strips, each consisting of 7 narrow strips.
