Crochet Wedding Cake Doily Pattern, Anne Cabot 5560

Wedding Cake Doily:  This pattern contains directions to create the centerpiece doily pictured. It looks like the lovely icing on a wedding cake! The big doily is a miracle of rings and flutings and interwoven designs and will make one of your handsomest "show" doilies. It's sufficiently large to use under a wedding cake tray as it is nineteen inches in diameter. It will also make an exceptionally beautiful dining table centerpiece or you can use it on a round lamp or side table.

This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Anne Cabot 5560 in 1944.  "This one has taken prizes at State Fairs!  There won't be many state fairs this season due to the war but you'll like the wedding cake centerpiece doily even if you can't enter it in an exhibition.  It's nineteen inches in diameter and is a fascinating piece of crochet.

MATERIALS: 

• 4 balls (125 yds) mercerized crochet cotton #20.
• NEEDLE: Steel crochet hook #10 or 11
