Description

Easy to Make Fascinator : This pattern contains directions to crochet the scarf pictured. Actually, it gives to sets of directions --- the pattern as shown, as well as an alternate Four Leaf Clover Stitch. The triangular scarf is 56 inches at widest point (width is not stated). After the scarf is crocheted, an attractive picot border is added. The Fascinator Scarf was wildly popular in this time period and still an attractive selection for today as either a shoulder or head scarf. This pattern is vintage 1940s; Leaflet No W-143 from F.W. Woolworth.

Materials:   About 5 ozs of yarn (4 ozs main color and 1 oz border) such as Knitting Worsted, Germantown, novelty yarns, etc. (or lesser amount of finer yarns such as Shetland Floss, Saxony, Sports Yarn, etc.);   Standard size steel crochet hook No. G (or any large size).
