Crocheted Star Square Pattern Design 558

Crocheted Square : This pattern contains directions for a crocheted square worked in a love star design with corners in the spider-web stitch. The squares, when joined look like two distinct designs. They can be used to form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs and many other articles. Work picot edging around small articles, if desired. Depending upon materials used, the individual squares can be crocheted at 8-1/2 or 11 inches. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 558 in 1959.
