This is a mail order pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs. The pattern was marketed as Anne Cabot 5221. The pattern was included in the Anne Cabot 1949 Needlework Album as well as the Anne Cabot 1958 Needlework Album.  The newspaper description:  "A twenty two inch crocheted doily is called 'cross and crown' design because of the tiny crosses in center diamond shaped sections and the half crowns which form the border edge.
