Doilies in a Jiffy:   This pattern gives directions to crochet the two doilies pictured.  Note:  This pattern written in old format of all caps.  FOR 8 POINTED DOILY OBTAIN ABOUT 125 YDS OF MERCERIZED CROCHET AND KNITTING COTTON (THIS DOES NOT COME IN SIZES); STEEL CROCHET HOOK, SIZE 8.  FOR SQUARE DOILY, OBTAIN 2 BALLS OF MERCERIZED CROCHET COTTON SIZE 20 (125 YDS IN EACH BALL); STEEL CROCHET HOOK, SIZE 10 OR 11.

This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspapers.  The pattern was marketed as Needlework Bureau 1466 in 1940.  The newspaper description:  "If you have to work up a doily in a hurry, these two will fill the bill. Yet they are extremely attractive and summery looking with their flower like centers and open work borders. They measure about 12 inches".
