Double Breasted Coat Crochet Pattern

Double Breasted Coat: This pattern gives directions to crochet the coat shown. Not a splendid picture -- vintage 1954 -- but a definitely a coat with tons of potential. The design is loose fitting, below hip length, with long sleeves and a small rounded collar. The front is double breasted with pockets on each side and the back is belted. Directions are for Size 14. Changes for Sizes 16 and 18 in parentheses.

Materials:

• Bear Brand Standard Knitting Worsted or Fleisher's Superior Knitting Worsted, 12 (12-13) 4-oz. skeins;
• Bucilla Plastic Crochet Hook No. 6;
• 8 buttons.

Measurements For Blocking:

• At bust-line, buttoned 39 (41 ½-44)";
• Width of back at underarm 18 (19-20)";

Gauge: 5 sts = 1"; 6 rows = 1".
