Filet Crocheted Chair Set : This filet crocheted chair set is to be made of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton. The chair back is 13 x 16 inches; the arm rest 6 ½ x 12 inches. The design may also be used as a buffet set or as ends for scarfs. The pattern includes a filet chart for the chair back and arm rest

This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs. This pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 6228 in 1938.  The pattern was also marketed under The American Weekly brand. 

Materials:  Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins  (2 skeins of cotton will make a chair set or 2 scarf ends);   No. 7 steel crochet hook.
