Filet Crochet Bedspread Squares, Laura Wheeler 1338

Filet Crochet Squares:  These two filet designs - the one a basket and the other a rose - are to be worked in string or in fine crochet cotton. They may be combined to form bedspreads, tea cloths, scarfs, pillows and buffet sets; each design may be used alone if desired. The pattern includes a chart of each square also directions describing how the charts are to be used.  The squares may be worked at 6-1/2 or 10-1/2 inches. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 1338 in 1946.  The newspaper description:  "Dainty filet lace? Yes indeed, and a great deal more.For you may work up these exquisite, yet simple into a luxurious bedspread, bedspread, scarf, mat or smart pillow".

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Unbleached crochet and knitting cotton in (800 yard skeins) and a No. 7 steel crochet hook 
• or No. 50 Mercerized crochet cotton and a No. 12 steel crochet hook.
• Each square requires approximately 150 yards of heavy cotton or 92 yards of fine cotton.
