Filet Crochet Bird Pattern Design 1843

Filet Crochet : This pattern gives directions to create the chair set shown. This design is worked in Filet Crochet and features a lovely bird motif. The chair back has two birds and measures 12 1/2 x 16 inches. The arms rests each have one bird and measures 6 x 12 inches. Charts are included.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs. This pattern is Laura Wheeler 1843 in 1940.  The newspaper description:  "You'll be certain bluebirds are lucky when you finish crocheting this set and see how lovely it is. The K stitch sets them off, the rose border makes an attractive finish".

Materials:

• Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins
• No. 7 steel crochet hook.

2 skeins of cotton will make a chair set or 2 scarf ends.
