Filet Crochet Dove Rose Doilies Design 6048

Filet Crocheted Doilies:  These two filet crocheted doilies can either be made of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton depending on their use. They can be used as buffet sets, luncheon sets or as odd doilies. The pattern includes a filet chart for each doily.   Create the doilies in large or small sizes.  The oval doilies are 19 x 24inches  or12 x 16 inches.  The round doilies are 8 or 12 inches. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 6048 in 1938. 

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 7 steel crochet hook, or No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton in (286 yard) balls and a No. 14 steel crochet hook.   2 balls of fine cotton or 2 skeins of heavy cotton will make 1 large and 1 small doily.
