Description

FILET CROCHET DOILIES - LUNCHEON SET: This pattern contains directions and charts for making two oblong and two round doilies. The doilies can either be made of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton.   Pattern includes large and small rectangle mats; and oval and small round mats / doilies.  The large oblong mats are 18 x 27 or 12 x 18 inches.  The small oblong mats are 12 x 18 or 8 x 12 inches. The large oval doily is17 x 25 or 12 x 15-1/2 inches. The round doily measures 12 or 8 inches in diameter. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 1785 in 1938.

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 7 steel crochet hook or No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton in (125 yard) balls and a No. 14 steel crochet hook. The large oblong doily requires approximately 75 The small oblong doily requires approximately 335 yards of heavy cotton or 225 yards of fine cotton. The large round doily requires approximately 275 yards of heavy cotton or 200 yards of fine cotton. The small round doily requires approximately 125 yards of heavy cotton or 80 yards of fine cotton.
