Filet Crochet Runner Pattern, Sunshine and Shadows

Sunshine and Shadows No 7281:   This pattern gives directions to create the runner pictured.   A lovely in filet crochet, this 1940 design features a pretty flower motif in the center, as well as each end side, with nicely textured border all the way around.   The finished piece will measure 18 x 42 inches.   The official description: " A lovely effect—like sunshine playing on shadowy leaves—makes the pattern of this unusual runner. Modern in feeling ".   A 3/4 page chart to work the filet crochet is included.

Materials: CLARK'S O.N.T. OR J. & P. COATS BEST SIX CORD MERCERIZED CROCHET, Size 50: 

•  SMALL BALL: CLARK'S 0.N.T.-10 balls of White or Ecru, or 18 balls of any color., J. & P. COATS-7 balls of White or Ecru, or 10 balls of any color.  
• BIG BALL: CLARK'S O.N.T. OR J. & P. COATS-4 balls of White or Ecru.  
• MILWARD'S steel crochet hook No. 12. 

GAUGE: 9 sps make 2 inches; 9 rows make 2 inches.
