Description

Filet Crocheted Triangles:  These two filet triangles - the one a pond lily and the other a butterfly - are to be worked in Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. They may be combined to form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs and pillows. The pattern includes a chart for each triangle and layout charts.  The Butterfly and Pond Lilly triangles will measure 10 x 10 inches, or 6-1/2 x 6-1/2 inches.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers.   The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 1698 in 1938.  The newspaper description:  "These two 10 inch companion triangles in filet crochet will make heirlooms you'll be proud of. A lovely design".

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 7 steel crochet hook, 
  • or No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton in (125 yard) balls and a Ho. 12 steel crochet hook.
  • Each triangle requires approximately 80 yards of heavy cotton or 58 yards of fine cotton.
