Description

Filet Chair Set with Initials:  This filet crochet chair set, made of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton may be made with or without the initial. The design may also be used as a buffet set or the large piece may be used as ends or scarfs. If desired the initials may be made separately and used as insets for various linens, the choice of cotton depending on the use of the initial. For heavy liners such as scarfs, bath towels, pillows and luncheon cloths use heavy cotton; for the finer linens such as guest towels, tea cloths, sheets and pillow cases use the fine cotton. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 1399 in 1937.

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Unbleached crochet and knitting cotton in (800 yard) skeins and a No. 7 steel crochet hook.   1 skein of cotton will make a chair set or 2 scarf ends.
