Description

Filet Crochet Squares:  This pattern gives directions to create the squares pictured.  These two filet designs - the one a rose and the other a dahlia are to be worked in string or in fine crochet cotton. They may be combined to form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs, pillows and buffet sets; each design may be used alone if desired.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 1410 in 1937.  The newspaper description:  "Gay times ahead!". Don't you need a tea or dinner cloth, spread or scarf that will do credit to your hospitality? Then quickly crochet either identical or companion squares (they'll measure 10 inches in string; 6-1/2 in cotton) and join them together for a handsome accessory".

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:   Unbleached crochet and knitting cotton in (800 yard) skeins and a No. 7 steel crochet hook or No. 50 mercerized cotton and a No. 12 steel crochet hook (Each square requires approximately 150 yards of heavy cotton or 92 yards of fine cotton)
