Crocheted Hat & Muff Set:  This pattern gives directions to crochet the muff set pictured.  The set, worked in 4-ply wool features a frilly bonnet with back of head ties, and matching muff.  The set is made 'extra pretty', with embroidery details.  The set is sized for girls 6 to 12 years.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Anne Cabot 5817 in 1946.  The newspaper description:  Girls of six to twelve years will love this warm-as-toast crocheted muff and pretty frilled hat. Six ounces of 4-ply wool in white, red, navy or wine color will make the set - bright left-over wools are used to embroider the heart and flower design on the completed muff and hat. Try it in white for a little girl in navy blue". 

Materials:

•  6 oz. of 4 ply wool, white or desired shade.
• Black velvet ribbon, 2 yards, 1" wide.
• Needle: #5 bone crochet hook.
