Girls Crocheted Mesh Dress Pattern Design 800

Crocheted Dress : This pattern gives directions to crochet the dress pictured. This sweet dress features a raised bodice, squared neckline, puff sleeves and full skirt. It has plenty of mesh stitching and ribbon detail. The pattern is written for girls AGES 2, with changes for AGES 4, 6 and 8 in parentheses. The official pattern description: "When youngsters start on their initial tour of discovery they must have some serviceable dresses which can stand wear and tear. This crocheted dress is brimming with style and originality. The clever yoke and tiny puffed sleeves are the epitome of daintiness. The ribbons thru the hem of the skirt also are new style points, and they are repeated around the sleeves and in the center of the front yoke".

This is a Mail Order pattern marketed through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Needlework Bureau 800 (most likely Peggy Roberts as well), in 1942.  The newspaper description:  "An adorable crocheted dress for the wee Miss. It's an easy crochet job".

Materials:   About two 900 yd. skeins any soft crochet or knitting cord;   Hook:Size required to crochet selected thread 9 ch to 1 inch;   Ribbon, 2 yards 3/4 inch; 2 yds - 1/2 inch; 3 ½ yds. 1/4 inch.
