Description

Girl's Bulky Coat:  This pattern gives directions to knit the coat pictured.  "Arriving guest is snugly buttoned into a scarlet patterned coat with raglan sleeves and flap pocket. Quick knitting on big needles".  The coat features long sleeves, a medium sized collar, pocket flaps and front button band -- not to mention, a marvelous textured pattern stitch.  Directions for size 4. Changes for sizes 6 and 8 are in parentheses.  Fits Chest Size: 23" (24"-26" ).  

MATERIALS:

  • Columbia-Minerva Calibar or Columbia-Minerva Calibrette, 12 (14-16) 2-oz. skeins. 
  • 14" knitting needles Nos. 8 and 10-1/2. (Or English sizes 5 and 2.) 
  • Two stitch holders. 
  • Five 3/4" buttons, one 1/2" button.

 GAUGE: 7 sts=2"; 9 rows=2" (pat, No. 10-1/2 needles).
