Girls Knitted Cardigan Pattern, Tic-Tac-Toe Motif

Tick-Tack-Toe Cardigan:   This pattern gives directions to knit, crochet detail, the cardigan shown.   The official description of this 1953 magazine pattern:  " Make a hit with a youngster's delight – the classic, long sleeved cardigan. Its special virtue is a ticktacktoe design, partly knit in, partly crocheted. Knit of Kitten Soft Brand Zephyr Wool or Dacron Fingering Yarn".   Sizes: Directions for size 10. Changes for sizes 12 and 14 are in parentheses. 

Materials:  Zelta or "Kitten Soft" Brand Zephyr Wool or 100% Dacron Fingering Yarn, 3 ply, 9 (9-10) 1-oz. skeins Yellow, main color (MC) ; 1/2 oz. Red (R) and 1/4 oz. Navy (N) for designs.  Hero knitting needles Nos. 1 and 2. (Or, English sizes, 12 and 11.)  Steel crochet hook No. 5;   9 buttons;   2 bobbins.    (Gauge: 8 sts=1"; 11 rows=1")
