Half Hat Band Crochet Pattern

Evening Half Hat : This pattern, vintage 1950s from McCalls, contains instructions to crochet the hat pictured above. This little half hat, like a headband, holds the hair in place and adds an attractive flair on an outfit. It ties at the nape of the neck It is a one size pattern.   Note the elegance of the silver bead detail.  

MATERIALS:  Hiawatha Lame Yarn. Art. 74, 1 tube silver; Hiawatha Metallic Corde, Art. 64, or Paisley Metallic Corde, Art. 69, 1 tube silver; Hiawatha Metallic Yarn, Art. 65, 1 tube silver;  Two strings silver beads (200 beads);  Steel crochet hook No. 00. 

GAUGE: 5 sps = 3"; 3 shells = 2".
