Description

Crocheted Hanging Planters; This pattern contains directions for crocheting two hanging planters of Double Quick or Mercerized Crochet Cotton. These are easy-to-make planters, which are starched stiffly. The can also be used to hold artificial flowers. The first style (shown on bottom) measures 6-1/2 inches across and 4-1/2 inches tall. The second style planter (top), measures 7-1/2 inches in diameter and 4 inches high.

This is a mail order pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.    The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 717.  The official newspaper description:  "Display plants to best advantage in hanging planters! Save dollars! Crochet hanging planters in two colors of heavy 8-cord or bedspread cotton. Fill with artificial or real greenery".
