Description

Victoria Hat and Flower Basket Bag : This pattern contains directions to crochet the hat and bag combination shown. This pattern set comes from vintage Hiawatha Leaflet No 10 from the Heirloom Needlework Guild. The pictures do not give justice to the details. The crocheted hat has a netted ruffle that borders the edge of the hat in pleats. Long veiling is used to create neck straps that wrap under then chin. The lined bag, an easy crochet featuring the herringbone stitch has a short carrying handle.

Materials:

  • HIAWATHA Super Twist Rayon Cord—Art. 41 or HIAWATHA Super Crepe Corde—Art. 42 - 2 tubes.
  • Steel crochet hook No. 0 or Bone crochet hook No. 3
  • 2 yards of veiling
  • 3 yards of grosgrain ribbon 1/4" wide
