Irish Crochet Medallion Cloth Pattern

Irish Crochet: This pattern contains directions for crocheting the medallion shown. This rose medallion, vintage 1940, is a delightful piece of Irish Crochet. Each block measures 5 inches, joined with fill in lace to form 9 x 9 inch blocks for tablecloth, doilies, etc. The two blocks, joined, create a light a airy cloth with a clear circular motif ... a bit flower, a bit wheel, all heirloom quality.  

Material Requirements:  American Thread Company "Star" or "Gem" Mercerized Crochet Cotton Size 20 or 30, White, Ecru, Dark Cream, Dark Linen or Colors;   Steel Crochet Hook #10 or 11.   (8-300 yard balls will make Luncheon Cloth 9 x 9 motifs)  . Each motif measures about 5 inches.
