Irish Crochet Rose Leaf Inserts, Peggy Roberts R2639

Irish Crochet Rose and Leaf Inserts:  This pattern gives directions to crochet the rose inserts and edging pictured.  The easy to crochet motifs create a wonderful design for linens.  Each completed motif measures approximately 6" x 4-1/2". 

This is a Mail Order pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Peggy Roberts R2639 in 1949.  "Enhance those January white sale pillowcases with frosty white lacy medallions and Irish roses.  Crochet the roses of variegated thread, the leaves and background in white for a most enchanting effect.  

Materials:  300 yds of Star Pearl Cotton No. 8, white. (For one dresser scarf and two pillow cases);   Steel Crochet Hook No. 3;   1 Pair Pillowcases (any size) to be trimmed;   1-1/2 yds of Linen or fine white Cotton Fabric (will make 2 dresser scarves).
