Vintage 1958

This wooly afghan knits itself —what with the easy stockinette stitch and popcorn decoration! It's simple to handle as it's made in 7-1/2-inch strips.  The background and popcorns are in one color with purled stripes in another shade or in another color.

Description

Knitted Afghan: This jiffy knit afghan is made in strips 7 ½ inches wide and 68 inches long. After the strips have been completed they are overcast together and a single crochet edging is worked all around edge. Included in the pattern are a few color suggestions. The finished afghan will measure 44 x 66 inches. I'm going to suggest this may be an intermediate to advanced pattern by the note on front by original owner -- Pretty but difficult.

This is a Mail Order pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs. This pattern is Alice Brooks 6236, from 1958.
