Jiffy Crochet : This pattern contains directions to crochet the mesh mat with leaf designed edge trim. This crochet design is done in heavy thread can be made very quickly. It can be made in a variety of sizes. The design can be worked in 4 strands of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton used together or of a heavy Perle Cotton especially adaptable for this type crochet. The design can be used for luncheon and buffet sets, scarfs and a variety of household articles. Make a luncheon set by combining four of the doily mats that are 11 x 17 inches each, or create a scarf that is 11 x 28 inches.

This pattern is Laura Wheeler 1532, marketed in 1937.  "This, the newest in crochet, inexpensive, quickly crocheted in one or two colors (the leaf border contrasting), adds beauty to your home. Make luncheon or buffet sets - scarfs or just doilies".

Materials:  4 (500 yard) skeins of unbleached and 4 skeins of green Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton OR 3 (4-1/2 ounce) skeins each of unbleached and green Perle Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 1 steel crochet hook.   If the set is made entirely in one color 6 skeins of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or 5 skeins of Perle Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 1 steel crochet hook.  If Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton is being used work with 4 strands. If Perle Cotton is being used work with a single strand.
