Description

Beacon Hill Suit : This pattern, vintage 1960's, contains instructions to knit the above pictured suit. This suit, referred to as a Tuxedo Coat suit has long raglan sleeves, button trimmed pockets. Wear the sleeves down or up for cuffs. Lapels, cuffs match a slender skirt. It is knit in stockinette stitch. The pattern is sized 12 to 18. The instructions are given for size 12, with changes for 14, 16 and 18 are shown in parentheses. 


Materials Specified:

  • - Bear Brand or Fleishers Gigantic for coat and Bear Brand or Fleishers Spice for skirt
  • - 24 inch nylon circular needle No 8 for skirt
  • - 14 inch straight knitting needles Nos 8 and 15 for coat (Or English sizes 5 and 000).
  • - Two buttons
  • - One yard 1 inch elastic
  • - Three stitch holders.

Gauge: 5 sts = 1 inch; 7 rows = 1 inch and 5 sts = 2 inches; 7 rows = 2 inches.
