Crochet Sport Set: This jiffy knit set of cap, scarf and mittens is made of heavy angora and four colors of 4-fold Germantown afghan yarn. Included in the pattern are a few color suggestions.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 6239.  

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: For the entire set 1 (1 ounce) ball each of mandarin blue, corn yellow and henna 4-fold Germantown afghan yarn, 6 balls of heavy weight white angora, a pair of No. 5 bone knitting needles and a No. 1 steel crochet hook. If only one piece of the set is being made - the cap requires 2 balls of angora, the scarf 4 balls of angora and the mittens 2 balls of angora.
