Knitted Christmas Stocking Pattern Design 552

Knitted Santa Stocking:  This pattern contains directions for knitting a Santa Stocking with - if desired - child's name or initials across top band. Stocking is worked in two flat sections on two needles. Use either Sport Yarn or 3-ply Fingering Yarn the choice of material will determine the size of stocking.  Using Sport Yarn, the stocking measures 10 x 20 inches; using Fingering Yarn 7-1/2 x 15 inches.    Note:  the lettering chart is not in excellent condition, but useable. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 552 in 1979.
