Knitted Shirtwaist Dress Pattern with Ribbed Skirt

Shirtwaist Dress: This pattern contains instructions for knitting the dress pictured. "The raised motif of the blouse, of the Shirtwaist Dress, flows nicely into the ribbed skirt and slims the figure flatteringly". This lovely dress, while quite a bit of work, will pay off in compliments. The dress features a dress with a raised pattern stitch across the bodice that extends across the short sleeves. There is a front 7 button band that is topped with a small round collar. The attached skirt is a marvelous ribbed design, so very slimming. The design, a classic 1950's pattern, is misses size 14, with changes for 16 and 18 in parentheses.

Materials:  Bishop's Fansay 20 (22-24) 1-oz. skeins (sub: wool boucle);   Needles No. 2 (standard), Circular No. 2 (standard) ;   Steel Crochet Hook No. 5 (standard) ;  7 buttons;   1-3/4 yds. of 1" grosgrain ribbon;   10" dress zipper;   1 yd. of 1/2" elastic.

Gauge: 8 sts = 1".
