Description

B-368 Smocked Border Hood and Mittens :This vintage 1960s pattern, from Coats & Clarks, contains instructions to knit the marvelous helmet and mittens pictured above. The both features smocked borders with that stand out, attention getting appeal. Knit-to-flt child's size (ages approximately 8-12) and woman's size. Directions are given for Child's Size. Changes for Woman's Size are in parentheses.

Materials:

  • COATS & CLARK'S "RED HEART" KNITTING WORSTED, 4 Ply ("Tangle-Proof" Pull- Out Skeins): 6 (8) ounces of No. 835 Periwinkle; 1 (2) ounces of No. 1 White and Y:3 ounce- of No. 909 Scarlet for both sizes.
  • Knitting needles, 1 pair No.3 and No.5.
  • Milwards Tapestry' Needle No. 18.
GAUGE: Stockinette ·st: 11 sts = 2 inches; 7 rows = 1 inch.
