Knitted Striped Heirloom Afghan Pattern

Heirloom Afghan:   This pattern gives directions to knit, crochet detail, the afghan pictured.   This design, vintage 1950 from American Thread features colorful striped panels in three colors of Sweater and Sock Yarn, offset with panels of white for contrast with fringed ends.  The entire afghan is worked in garter stitch.   The finished afghan will measure 35 x 44 inches. 

Materials:  

• AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DAWN" SWEATER AND SOCK YARN, 2 ounces each Canary and Black, 3 ounces each Baby Blue and Bittersweet 12 ounces White or colors of your choice  
• 1 pr. Knitting Needles No. 2 OR ANY SIZE NEEDLES WHICH WILL RESULT IN STITCH GAUGE BELOW  
• Plastic Crochet Hook Size F
