Description

Topper:   This pattern gives directions to knit (crochet edges) the cardigan jacket pictured.   Simply called a topper (which was the custom in the early 1950's), the jacket is in a two toned pattern stitch, hip length, with small collar and roll back cuffs on 3/4 length sleeves.  There is a two button closure at bottom.   The pattern is written for misses size 12, with changes for 14 and 16 in parenthesis. 

Materials:  Unger Les Bouquets 50gm balls: 6 (6-7) Black, 4 (4-5) Red;   Knitting Needles No. 9;   Steel crochet hook size 0;   Tapestry needle;   2 small buttons;   1/4 yd. nylon tulle.   (Gauge: 3 sts = 1"; 7 rows = 1".)
