Knitted Two Piece Dress pattern

Two Way Costume:  This pattern gives directions to knit the two piece dress pictured.  Fitted jacket, patterned in tiny white and charcoal checks, makes chic coverage for a scoop-necked charcoal sheath. Dress, collar and cuffs on jacket are knitted in simple stockinette.  Directions are written for size 12, with changes for 14 and 16 in parentheses.  

Materials:  

• Fleisher's Nylon 'n Wool, 10 (11-13-15) 1-oz. skeins main color (MC) for dress; 5 (6-7-8) skeins main color (MC) and 5 (6-7-8) skeins contrasting color (CC) for jacket. 
• 24" nylon circular needle No. 4. (Or English size 9.) 
• Straight plastic knitting Nos. 3 and 5. (Or English sizes 10 and 3.) 
• Steel crochet hook No. 4.
• Two stitch holders.
• One yard 1/2" elastic for dress.
• Three large buttons for jacket. One snap.

 GAUGE: 15 sts = 2"; 10 rows = 1" (stockinette st, No. 4 needle). 8 sts = 1"; 14 rows=1" (pat, No. 5 needles ).
