This generation will never know . . . so widespread is the use of this classic.  Note: Directions are given in sizes 36 and 38 because most college girls like their sweaters loose fitting and wear them a size or two larger than their dress size 

Description

Brooks Pullover :   This pattern gives directions to knit the top pictured.   This is a quite easy pattern, that features a high round neckline, hip length, short sleeves and ribbed edges.  The pattern is written for misses sizes 36 and 38 only.   

Materials:  Bear Brand or Bucilla Angel Zephyr or Fleisher's Fleecy Zephyr, 5 (5) skeins;   Bucilla or Fleisher's white knitting needles, 1 pair each, sizes 2 and 5 (Standard). English sizes, 11 and 8.  

Gauge: 13 sts=2 inches.
