Knitting Pattern Straight Dress and Coat

Dress and Coat : This pattern contains directions to knit, crochet edge, the set - dress and coat - shown. The dress is a simple straight design with short raglan sleeves, a high round neckline and knee length and back neck zipper. The coat, in matching pattern stitch is the same straight style, open front, long sleeves and below thigh length. It has an attractive neck scarf that helps serve as a closure. The vintage 1960's pattern is written for misses size 10, with changes for sizes 12, 14, 16 and 18 in parentheses.

• COATS & CLARK'S "RED HEART" KNITTING WORSTED, 4 Ply ("Tangle-Proof" Pull-Out Skeins) : No. 586 Lilac. Dress - 20 (22-24-26-28) oz. Coat-3/4 length: 28 (30-34-38-40) Coat—7/8 length – 32 (34-38-42-44)
• Circular Needles No. 8 and 10 for Dress, No. 15 for Coat; each 29-inch length.
• Crochet Hook, Size G.
• COATS & CLARK'S NECK OPENING ZIPPER (Pink Label): 20-inch length.
• 1 large and 1 small hook and eye.

GAUGE: No. 10 needle-9 sts = 2 inches; 9 rows = 1 inch. No. 15 needle (double yarn)-3 sts = 1 inch; 11 rows = 2 inches.
